GOOD NEWS! Just yesterday we received a “Congratulatory Letter” from the School Sports NL telling us our School has reached the pinnacle of the Sports Stars Program – the GOLD STAR LEVEL. This was received because we have earned enough points by our participation in the wide variety of school sports programs along with the sportsmanship and success. We have received the Gold Star Banner which we will be hanging in the Gymnasium at the general assembly and distribution of report cards on Thursday June 24th beginning 10:00 AM. We invite ALL the general public to come and witness our banner hanging which is something we and all our Community can be very proud of.
GOOD BYE, FAREWELL AND THANK YOU: This year is ending off with much emotions in that we are losing a number of our wonderful teachers. We extend good luck and best wishes to the following in their new positions: Ms. Lori Green who will be transferring to St. Kevin’s Junior High, Mrs. Verna Hayward will be going to Dunne Academy, Ms. Stephanie Lundrigan will be going to Tricentia Academy in Arnold’s Cove. We also wish Mr. Andrew Martin and Mr. Jamie Roebotham the best of luck in the hope that they will be accepted for a new position very soon. We have Mrs. Catherine Ryan retiring this year after spending many years teaching and especially with us on Staff both in the former Elementary school and here at Stella Maris Academy. We thank and commend all of the above for their commitment, dedication and time that was exerted on behalf of the children in our communities.
This will be our final Stellaletter for the school year. We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to ALL parents, guardians and friends for your support and interest in our school and it’s students. Your attendance at their accomplishments, celebrations and various functions was greatly appreciated. We especially thank each and everyone who has volunteered their time to helping us during this past year with whatever task we requested of you. We wish ALL students a very SAFE and HAPPY summer!!
