Cross Country (Fall 2013)
On October 28th, 21 students from Stella Maris Academy traveled to Carbonear for the annual Harvest Run. This annual Trinity – Conception – Placentia School Regional Cross Country running meet is a very important race for schools in that it gives younger students a chance to represent their schools in competition with other schools. This year, approximately 1000 students from over thirty Avalon Peninsula schools participated in the event. All students participated well, enjoyed their races and even managed to make a few new friends throughout the day. Our school was thrilled to have two medal winners. Nick Luther raced to the bronze medal in the grade 8 Boys’ race while Denis Power captured the gold medal as the winner of the Senior Boys’ race. Both of these results are certainly outstanding achievements. Congratulations, Nick and Denis!! Overall, the day was a great success as all students enjoyed the competitions and atmosphere. We congratulate all participants as excellent representatives of their school and communities. The students are already looking forward to going back next year!
Good Luck, Denis!
